St. Cuthbert’s Society Men’s Cricket Club is an active and enjoyable club for both budding cricketers and for those who wish to watch games and attend socials.
The club aims to participate in two competitions.
- The indoor league which runs during second term at Freemans Quay leisure center about 10 minutes walk from both Parsons field and the Bailey.
- The outdoor league in summer term with games split pre and post exams with a break whilst exams take place. This normally culminates in finals day held at the Racecourse ground.
In 2014 the club reached the semi finals of the indoor competition and qualified for finals day. Hopefully with a good intake of freshers this year we can go a few steps further and challenge for both titles! Last year we had a great intake of superb cricketers, many good enough to represent the University. Although many freshers will want to play for the university, college cricket is of a good standard and there is no reason you cant’t also represent the Cuth’s. Cuth’s cricket is open for absolutely anyone and everyone to join. Away from cricket there are normally regular socials and a dedicated supporters club providing a BBQ at most of our games. We encourage everyone no matter their ability to come and try out SCSCC at our winter nets which should be at the start of Epiphany term.
