Cuth’s PhotoSoc is for photo enthusiasts of all experience levels; we’ll be exploring both digital and film photography in a relaxed group. We’ll be learning various techniques, going on socials and helping each other learn more about photography. You can also display your work at the end of year Cuth’s Summer Exhibition. Come along and get creative!
We meet every Thursday 7pm in the Conference Room in House 8. (see map below)
2016-17 President: Mariam Hayat
2016-17 Darkroom Manager: Mariam Hayat
We have a fully equipped dark room (see map below) in House 8, the entrance is via the door in the computer room. To use the darkroom you must be a member of PhotoSoc (£5 a year for Cuths students)- the library has a sign in/out sheet for borrowing the key. The darkroom also has a film camera for you to borrow for free although there is a small charge for film rolls.
Library opening times:
Weekdays 11 am – 8 pm
Weekends 12 noon – 6 pm
The darkroom manager regularly runs courses for both beginner and advanced darkroom techniques. To keep up to date with when these are running, either sign up for the mailing list or follow us on facebook. Course booklets coming soon!
Both the darkroom and PhotoSoc are located in House 8 on the Bailey site of St Cuthbert’s Society. The door to House 8 requires a code so please message/email us if you don’t know this.
